If you are a Field Engineer professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Based in our San Diego, CA location, you will be responsible for performing analysis, modifications, documentation, and support of daily operations as well as involvement with system design, upgrade, and enhancement while being under the supervision of city engineers.

AS THE SUPERVISORY FIELD ENGINEER YOU WILL: 

Analyze and solve engineering problem associated with the operations of relatively complex digital, analog and hybrid control systems, sub-systems and/or specific control equipment at the City of San Diego’s facilities.

Provide the matrix supervision to a large group of junior field engineers in handling the customer’s needs, this will include intensive communication abilities in resolving issues on a timely basis.

You serve as a strategic partner to build, grow, and maintain profitable and long-lasting relationships. You convey clear performance expectations and follow up consistently while facilitating breakthroughs by integrating diverse views and finding common ground or acceptable alternatives.



REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline, engineering technology and or computer science.
  • Minimum of 10 years of field related experience
  • Knowledge of engineering principles and advanced experience in the application of those principles to address the customer’s needs.
  • 3 years of Emerson Ovation DCS Experience
  • 2 years of WDPF
  • 80% Travel 
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  
  • BS Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering
