Job Description:
The Electronic Security Systems (ESS) Technician III applies technical knowledge to maintain legacy security management systems and solve issues to include a variety of subsystems within the Electronic Security System (ESS), Intrusion Detection System (IDS), Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) System, Video Recording System, Intercom System, Public Address System, Fiber Optic Communications Network, and Asset Tracking System.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Electronic Security Systems Technician should have a working knowledge and understanding of PACS hardware, intrusion detection, CCTV equipment, public address, ss systems
During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
Have a working knowledge and understanding of electric principals
Ability to use diagnostic equipment/software and established troubleshooting techniques to isolate network deficiencies, equipment failures, and operational anomalies
Ability to read, and interpret electrical schematics and architectural drawings
Reading and adhering to blueprints and design plans for the installation of sub-level devices (e.g., patch panels, junction boxes) on large or complex jobs and ahead equipment on small or less complex jobs
Reading and understanding com component-level thematic diagrams for systems, equipment, and devices
Identifying appropriate cables from drawings and running cables/fiber per installation design plans
Repairing and maintaining electronic security system equipment
Testing continuity of conductor(s) or breaks in fiber
Terminating basic connections such as butt splices, insulated connectors, terminal strips/blocks and BNC connectors
Mounting and terminating field devices (e.g., Readers, Door Contacts, REXs, Cameras)
Installing and Terminating sub-level devices (e.g., patch panels, junction boxes) on large or complex jobs and ahead-equipment on small or less complex jobs to include power and proper grounding
Terminating and testing voice and data connections
Performing field verification testing
Understanding the infrastructure relationships between trades
Coordinate with other trades and/or clients on your own
Adhering to all Company and Client policies and procedures
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications : (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)
At least eight years experience residential electronics installation & troubleshooting is required with a high school degree; Or
At least six years experience coupled with Graduation from the US Navy or Air Force Electronics Training Program with a minimum of 720 class roomclassroomGraduation from an Accredited Electronic Apprentice Program with a high school degree; Or
At least four years experience with an AA/AS in Electronics from an accredited program; Or
At least two-year experience with a BS/BA in Electronics from an accredited program. List of qualifications which include education/experience/certifications/clearances (quantifiable)
LENEL OnGuard 7.3 access control certification is required.
At least two active certifications from the following OEM list: Morpho Detection Itemizer; Smiths Detection X-Ray Hiscan; CEIA Walk-Through Metal Detectors; Delta & Koei Ve and vehicle Barrier; Client Analog CCTV Systems; IP CCTV Systems; Pathminder Turnstiles; or equivalent OEM certifications.
Required to adhere to all government agency guidelines as it applies to COVID vaccine Attestation/Restrictions.
OSHA 10 Training required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
OSHA 30 Training preferred.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products
Must be proficient with Test Equipment (i.e. TDR, OTDR)
Must have skill level III Hand Tools (a complete list of required tools will be provided)

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.
