What we are looking for

Genesis is rapidly growing in the Energy Transition sector and the successful candidate will support energy transition projects with a particular emphasis on offshore wind. We are seeking a candidate with demonstrable experience related to offshore wind and that has the drive to support our continued growth in the offshore wind sector.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work as part of the highly skilled Environmental & ESG Team within Genesis, supporting a wide range of clients on varied and interesting projects related to the energy industry. You will also interface with the wider Genesis organisation through interactions with other discipline teams to provide environmental technical inputs on a variety of projects for public and private clients in the UK and overseas.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading and executing environmental studies related to offshore wind developments from early stage screening and risk assessment through to full scale Environmental Impact Assessment to support consenting;
  • Supporting the continued growth of our offshore wind capabilities;
  • Project management of deliverables identified above including acting as client focal point;
  • Writing tenders in response to requests for proposals;
  • Mentoring responsibilities for junior staff on a project level.

Our team supports a wide range of environmental studies and assessments, presenting a range of development paths for individuals to expand their skills and knowledge. The team carries a wide portfolio of projects requiring a diverse range of skills and we encourage all team members to diversify their competencies and gain experience beyond their core role.

Required Skills:

The successful applicant must
  • Have a degree in a relevant science or environmental subject ideally including a marine aspect;
  • Hold experience in a similar role including EIA;
  • Have knowledge of offshore wind development and the associated environmental legislation;
  • Have project management experience on small to medium projects;
  • Have experience of writing EIAs for energy related projects;
  • Be a strong team player;
  • Be self-motivated and able to work to tight deadlines;
  • Have excellent written skills with attention to detail and an ability to inform the reader.
