Petroplan is recruiting for a Project and Turnaround Coordinator for a U.S. Based LNG company. This position will be based on-site South of Houston, Texas.

About the Position:

The role of the Projects and Turnarounds Coordinator is integral to the Capital Projects and Turnarounds organization, dedicated to enhancing facility performance by devising and implementing various projects. This position oversees outages to support production objectives, covering safety system enhancements, reliability improvements, capacity upgrades, and measures for overall margin and long-term profitability. The Capital Project and Turnarounds Coordinator holds accountability for project execution results, ensuring alignment with business opportunities. Involvement spans all project phases, including Front End Loading, Design, Procurement, Construction, and Start-up.

Essential Functions:
  • Head the projects execution team, ensuring effective work coordination, planning, and scheduling.
  • Establish project schedules based on sound data and aligned with business objectives, closely monitoring progress against baseline plans.
  • Develop and implement Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) plans, emphasizing construction safety.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination between the project team and key stakeholders.
  • Regularly update on scope, objectives, cost, progress, and risks.
  • Utilize SAP for work orders, PR creation, and billing functions.
  • Develop comprehensive job scopes, manage scope changes, and strategize plant segmentation and clearing schedules.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and plant resources for identifying and implementing improvements.
  • Lead project scope definition, preparation, and execution.
  • Ensure smooth transition of projects to Operations and Maintenance.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Capital Projects and Turnaround Core Team to coordinate Start Up/Shutdown timing and plan per the Turnaround Management Strategy.
  • Prioritize personal safety, process safety, and environmental stewardship in all project activities.
  • Coordinate operational activities with the Operations Turnaround Coordinator for project execution.
  • Lead project scope reviews and validation of work scope.
  • Work with Vendor CSA Support Team to incorporate equipment-specific requirements.
  • Assist in the development and optimization of project, outage, and turnaround schedules.
  • Provide updates during project, outage, and turnaround execution.
  • Document lessons learned for future improvements.
  • Clarify project scope with all stakeholders.
  • Lead and participate in Risk Reviews.
  • Coach, train, and develop the projects team for optimized performance.
  • Participate in Regulatory and Safety plan development and execution.
  • Analyze performance deficiencies during projects and drive improvements.
  • Availability for extensive hours during turnarounds, including weekends and holidays.

Required Experience:
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a maintenance or projects supervisory role in the LNG, Chemical, or Refining Industry.
  • 20 years of experience in a maintenance or projects supervisory role in the LNG, Chemical, or Refining Industry.
  • Expert-level experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and SAP CMMS.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.

Required Skills:
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong prioritization skills, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Basic First Aid, Permit to Work, Incident Reporting, Accident Investigation, Emergency Response Plan, SDS.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and SAP CMMS.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Close liaison with PM Coordinator, Operations/Engineering, Material Coordinator, Maintenance Technicians, HSE Specialist, and Warehouse/Procurement.
  • Collaboration with Contractors, Vendors/Suppliers.
  • Support HSE Management System policies, efforts, and programs.
  • Assist in developing action plans and objectives.
  • Actively participate in HSE Management System Policies.
  • Prioritize HSE concerns in all activities within the area of responsibility.
  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure safe operating conditions.
