Senior Estimator

Works under general supervision to prepare professional services cost estimates and estimates that include professional services and proprietary equipment in the oil & gas industry. Prepares a specific component of medium to large Engineer-Procure-Construct (EPC) estimates. Often work independently on estimates for small projects to medium projects. Work independently to prepare change order estimates for existing projects. Assist in development of department improvement initiatives such as historical data, tool and template development, procedures, etc. Ability to conduct estimate reviews with Executive Management.

Must Have Skills:
  • Self-motivated and detail oriented professional
  • Ability to make deadlines and work under time pressure.
  • Good analytical, organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Advanced skills with MS Excel software.
  • Experience preparing estimates related to piping.
  • Experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS PowerPoint.
  • Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • Function as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in one or more engineering disciplines (civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation).
  • 7-10 years of estimating experience in the Oil & Gas industry.

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Experience with multi-off execution and fabrication yard execution.
  • Working knowledge of MS Access.
  • Exposure to Aspen Capital Cost Estimator (ACCE).
  • Experience calculating cash flow analysis for estimates including exposure costs.
  • Familiar with quantitative risk analysis techniques and software.
  • AACE International certification or working knowledge of AACE recommended practices in the areas of Estimating or Project Controls.
