Brunel are partnering alongside a global supplier of heavy industry machinery to find a Senior Network Engineer. As the Senior Network Engineer, your role will involve spearheading major projects based around the Brisbane area, with occasional responsibilities overseeing the deployment of new sites across Northern Queensland.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, external vendors, and partners to support and optimise network solutions.
  • Evaluate and assisting with the implementation of VXLan to replace OTV between our datacentres.
  • Perform network configurations, including routing, switching, Juniper Switch and Wireless rollout and firewall configuration.
  • Cisco Firewall FTD and Anyconnect upgrades.
  • SD-WAN rollout/support (Velocloud).
  • Implement network security measures and ensure compliance with security policies and best practices.
  • Monitor network health and performance to proactively identify and resolve issues
  • Help support and guide junior engineers and worth in collaboration with Senior Engineers.
  • New site deployments (some travel may be required to Northern QLD).


  • Minimum 5 + years of experience in Network Engineering role.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology (or equivalent).
  • Industry certificates such at CCNP/ CCNA (or a CCIE would be highly desirable).
  • Full working rights in Australia (Citizenship or permanent residency preferred).
  • Strong experience working with network and security firewalls from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper Networks, Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, Aruba.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF), and network security principles
  • Experience with network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, wireless and load balancers.
  • Familiarity with network virtualization technologies (e.g., VLAN, VXLAN)
  • Experience working with Cisco ISE, Nexus and UCS is highly desirable.
