JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood (trading locally as WOOD KSS LLP) is currently recruiting for a Senior Cost Controller with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry to join our team in Atyrau office, Kazakhstan (for KZ passport holders).

RESPONSIBILITIES

• development and execution of the project scope cost plan and monitor costs and collect cost data to ensure conformity with project management's budget directives, cost tracking, forecasting and financial reporting; participates in the forecast process
• study and understand all relevant project documents relating to the cost management of allocated project(s)
• create Project/Projects within Internal Cost System to agreed format
• establishing Project Control Budgets based on the client approved Project Control Estimate
• assisting Project Controls Manager in identifying and gaining approval of Estimates/Change Requests
• perform a variety of cost engineering functions including cost control, budget preparations, forecasting, and cost reporting under supervision of Project Controls Manager
• reviewing cost commitment and expenditure information (for all cost elements), for input to the internal cost controls system and reporting system on a weekly basis
• producing regular cost reports and advising Project Engineer(s) of any forecast cost overruns as warranted; maintaining comprehensive accessible registers of financial approvals, variations and change orders
• establish Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) and integrate with WBS / OBS
• review all approved PO's as issued for cost committed
• any other duties appropriate to the position as required
• report turnaround and project actual vs. baseline cost status as required
• report Earned Value per vendor; Contracts Audits, and identify trends that impact the final cost projections
• review/Endorse final cost report and invoice /bill to client
• review proposed cost changes with construction personnel, project engineers and contractors
• ensure the correct cost centres for all expenditures provided, cost and invoice tracking
• check project man-hours before Submission TS to the Client
• review allocation of man‐hours in conjunction with planning on a weekly basis

QUALIFICATIONS

• bachelor's degree
• work experience in the respective position no less than 5-7 years
• proficient user of all relevant softwares
