We are exploring the Petroleum market in search of a Petroleum Economics Specialist to join a world-renowned company in Saudi Arabia. 

The position  of Petroleum Economics Specialist is to support high-level technical petroleum activities across the full range of hydrocarbon exploration and production projects, including economic optimization of the entire resource portfolio and opportunities to conduct pioneering studies, introduce new technologies, and propose innovative development solutions.

The role has a competitive expat and significant leverage to expand an international niche career, working with a leading player within the hydrocarbon market.

Job Duties:

  • Provides expert advice and assistance on operating problems.
  • Specifies design criteria and relevant operating parameters for developing oil and gas projects.
  • Participates in project technical reviews and reviews proposals for new or changed operating procedures to ensure efficient and economical operations.
  • Conducts economic studies and cost analysis to resolve alternative courses of action.
  • Guides upstream investment opportunities.
  • Performs impairment assessment on upstream assets.
  • Conducts field portfolio management and project ranking.
  • Leads the process of building and updating guidelines for upstream economics evaluation.
  • Develop less-senior staff through designing, implementing and overseeing professional development programs.
  • Represent company in external technical conferences, symposiums and forums

Candidate Prerequisites: 

  • BS in Petroleum Engineering or related disciplines; advanced degrees in Business,Petroleum Economics, Finance or related would be very beneficial.
  • Substantial experience gained through working for reputed oil and gas consulting and E&P companies specializing in PE technical disciplines such as: Reservoir Characterization, Petroleum Development Architecture, Business Development Planning, Reservoir Surveillance & Monitoring, Reserves Assessment and Economic Evaluations
  • Required familiarity with geology/geophysics, petrophysics, drilling operations, completion methods, artificial lift, well testing, flow assurance, production operations, surface facilities design, and cost estimation.
  • Experience working in a large organization with a varied portfolio of reservoirs or had a wide range of experience in smaller companies.
  • Expertise in oil and gas reservoir development and depletion plans.
  • Expertise in investment decision analysis (including risk and uncertainty), strategic long-term production plans and portfolio analysis.
  • Extensive experience presenting to executive management and large audiences.
