Brunel Papua New Guinea is looking for an experienced Underground Electrical Technical Specialist to join our team in a well-established goldmine in Papua New Guinea. Our team is passionate about providing quality services to our clients and helping them find the right people for their projects. 21 days on/ 14 days off roster. 12 hour days. 12 month contract with potential for the role to become permanent.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the tradesman with HV switching & access, maintenance/ repairs of underground drill rigs, both Tamrock & Atlas Copco machines, maintenance/ repairs on 11KV % 1000V electrical infrastructure, mine comms, equipment commonly found in an underground goldmine. This includes performing tests on electrical systems, troubleshooting any problems that arise, and making necessary repairs or adjustments. The ideal candidate will have experience working with underground electrical systems and have knowledge of safety regulations related to this type of work. A good understanding of HV distribution, a basic understanding of PLC's & instrumentation and assisting with the weekly planning function.

• A minimum of 5 years' experience working as an electrician in an underground environment
• Knowledge of safety regulations related to working in an underground environment
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and diagrams
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical problems quickly and efficiently
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

• FIFO roster 21 days on/ 14 days off
